University of Windsor: Admission Process

For international applicants seeking admission to UWindsor, admission-related information including critical deadlines and the fundamental admission process is provided as follows. Before applying, a student must determine if he or she meets the admission standards or program-specific requirements. There are three methods for applying.

  • Directly applying through the UWindsor website:
  • Create a profile and fill out their application form here.
  • Apply through the Ontario Universities Applications Centre (OUAC):
  • Apply via OUAC form 105F. Candidates can use this form to apply to numerous universities in Ontario with a single application.
  • Apply through educational agents:
  • The university has allowed various agencies to assist students in their application to UWindsor.
  • Candidates must ensure that they apply only through reputable and approved agencies.

(i)Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate Program: International Indian candidates must have an All Indian Senior School Certificate/Indian School Certificate/Higher Secondary Certificate. They must submit certified secondary school transcripts detailing the courses they studied and the marks they received.

The grade 12 score required varies depending on the school/course. However, the class average is normally 3.0 or higher. Students are also encouraged to submit SAT and ACT results. Credits for Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and other globally recognised tests can be transferred.

Graduate & Ph.D. Program: Students need to have a minimum of 70% in their undergraduate degree to be eligible for a master's degree, and 77% for a Ph.D. It should be noted that admission is not guaranteed only on the basis of meeting minimal requirements. The prerequisites for each course may differ.

(ii)Documents Required

International students must apply through the university's UWindsor official website, filling out the application and supplying supporting documentation. The following documents are required for the admissions process:

  • You must have at least a 70% aggregate in your studies to meet the mark criteria. You must also have an IELTS score of at least 6.5.

(iii)Acceptance Rate

With an acceptance rate of 60-70%, the University of Windsor has moderately competitive admission criteria. The institution is a comprehensive research university with about 16,300 students, 23% of whom are foreign. Windsor University has 190 undergraduate programmes, 65 graduate programmes, and six professional programmes.
