Since an MS in Engineering Management is a postgraduate degree, it will have more extensive eligibility criteria than UG or diploma-level programs. Furthermore, it is a mix of engineering and management that is more competitive.

  • To qualify for an MS in Engineering Management, you need to have a bachelor's degree in either management, such as BBA, or engineering, such as BTech.
  • Some universities also ask for prerequisite programs, or students require prior knowledge in a subject-specific area to enrol.
  • Exams such as GRE or GMAT may be required depending on the universities' guidelines. These exams are mandatory in the USA and Canada, but some institutes have waived off this criterion.
  • Overseas students with English as their second tongue need to prove their proficiency with scores on standardised exams such as IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, etc. The minimum score requirements will vary from university to university.
  • Some universities also demand work experience for master's degrees, such as MS in Engineering Management (MEM).
