The Pearson Test of English, or PTE in its full form, is an internationally recognised computer-based, standardised English language proficiency test created by Pearson Plc. and made available worldwide in collaboration with Edexcel.

The PTE Academic test was created specifically for the assessment and validation of language use and interpersonal abilities in academic contexts at the university level. For effective planning, international candidates need to be aware of the PTE exam fees.

The PTE academic exam fee must be paid by candidates who plan to sit for the test. The cost of the PTE exam varies from nation to nation, but it normally costs between USD 185 and USD 275. The PTE academic test fee in India is INR 17,000. If an applicant registers for the exam less than 48 hours before the PTE test date, they will be charged a PTE Late Registration Fee.

Minimum Age Limit and Parental Consent:

To take the PTE exam, you must be at least 16 years old. In case you happen to fall between the age group of 16-18 years, then only after you can produce a Parental Consent Form duly signed by your parents will you be eligible to sit for the test. Through this declaration form, it will be verified that your parents or guardians are aware of the test and have agreed to your appearing for the same.

In addition to the exam registration charge, a late registration fee is applicable whenever a candidate has sent an application for the PTE after the normal deadline. To avoid extra costs, plan early and register for your test in good time. If you want to withdraw from the PTE Exam, there is a cancellation policy for refunds depending on the number of days of prior notice given for cancellation.

• If you cancel the test 14 days or earlier than the test date, you will be eligible for a complete refund of the exam fees.
• If you cancel your registration 8 to 13 days prior to the test date, you might be eligible for a 50% refund of the test fees.
• However, there will be no refund if the cancellation is made within 7 days of the test date.

The PTE exam rescheduling charges are as follows:

• If candidates have at least 14 full calendar days left before their test date, they may reschedule their PTE exam without incurring any fees.
• 14 days or less before your test date, you cannot reschedule. In this scenario, you can only cancel your test and make a new appointment
• You can reschedule your test a maximum of six times.

If an applicant is unhappy with their score, they can seek to examine their PTE results via the PTE website.

• Applicants must pay USD 50 for the service of technical review. This process does not change the actual score, it simply indicates whether or not there was some technical issue with the testing equipment or digital files. If the review holds, the candidate will receive a refund of the test fee as well as a review charge.
• Candidates have the option to request a machine rescore if they are not satisfied with their PTE results. The candidates' open-ended written answers and spoken tests will both be rescored. Rescoring fees are USD 125, which will be reimbursed if there is a change in either the communicative or overall PTE scores.
